I'm at jury duty for the first time in 16 years.

Last time I had jury duty was the day or so after Kramer had his moment on stage.

I purposely didn't shave and dressed like a bum to lower the possiblity of me getting selected, but forgot I live in Florida.

There's a guy wearing overalls and several others wearing hats with fish hooks on the bill.

So I'm pretty sure I'll get selected

I've never had jury duty. Is is true you only get called if you vote or went to college? Or is that a myth? My brother has had it a bunch of times and he doesn't vote either (but did go to college)

Where I am they get the rolls from voting and from driver's licenses.

I got out. Judge asked everyone questions prior and asked about whether or not I have relatives who have committed crimes or been victims. I said yes and had to go up to him and tell him along with the attorneys.

After everyone else answered questions, I was told I was good to leave.

It pays to have a family who can't behave!

I'll admit the judge almost made me laugh when I explained one of the attempted murder charges a relative got a few years ago he said, and I quote, "yeah that's a difficult one." and I thought of Jim saying "it's a tough one, man."

I really wanted to get selected -- that way I could get out of my job for a week.

That probably means I should start looking for a new gig. Boss probably would have still given me shit to do after hours, anyway.

I remember it surprised me who actually got selected. People like me who stayed under the radar didn't get selected. They chose the more talkative opinonated people, which seemed counterintuitive. I guess with them, you sort of know what you're dealing with, but the quieter potential jurors could be totally radical and you wouldn't know until after they were selected.

I’ve never had to actually do it, gotten out of it multiple times. Military got me out of it a couple times, and one time in college all I said was my car broke down and they didnt even question it.
