I had a alcoholic uncle who I never really met who moved to east Germany in the 80s. He moved back snd I saw him like twice in my life that I remember. His wife would call regularly but was a fucking moaning bore who had a stroke so it was torture trying to be nice to basically a stranger on the phone who spoke really slowly. They are both dead now.
I have a cousin who lived in the same village but would see cousins nearly 200 miles away more regularly. No fall out of anything just no connection to that side of the family really
