ATDI ruled. They're a pair of weirdos but Mars Volta always tried stuff no one else would and were insanely talented. It's good upto a point but if you don't keep people around you that are gonna say "dude maybe you should think this one through" it gets outta hand by album #3

This live album still slaps tho. 3 songs in 70 minutes.

What in the world did Mars Volta try to do that no one else would? What an odd, over zealous statement and I hope your answer surprises me and makes me listen to them again, but they were just prog rock for an indie rock audience.
