It's been a while since a big historical epic. Gladiator feels like the last good one
The extended director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven is pretty good.

"Finest Hour" combines the movies Darkest Hour and Dunkirk to make one of the best historical epics I've ever seen. Dunkirk was great in terms of immersion but the lack of story and disjointed timeline killed it for a lot of viewers.

They will butcher it and insult historians' knowledge of events, and shoe-horn 2020+ conventions and socio-political sentiments. They lost the ability to be ambassadors for my ability to "fantastically reminisce historical events". It will leave me asking questions like "huh, thats not what happeened in Waterloo, why did Ridley Scott do that? What is the agenda?" etc. So I will skip, idk how people enjoy Hollywood shit now anyway.
