Good point...but just be honest and say its overwhelming, instead of thinking its all dumb
It might not be overwhelming if they lack the capacity to understand the scope of the issues. Took me a long time to get it through my head that some people actually don't think about these things or care at all. Some people are just happy - it's creepy and weird but there it is.

it's disheartening that prolateriats take sides and allow THEM (no triple parenthesis there btw) to separate us......because that's what politicians do.

there is a certain point where you do take the blue pill because you like that you don't live in fucking venezuela however don't be shithead and think THEY care about you

It's the same as admitting an addiction. You're letting media give you a dopamine rush of thinking you know something when all you did was watch television\media. Half my family are like this. I wouldn't care, only its like having a conversation with a crack head. Sooner or later they want to talk about crack.

A lot of people need a reality check. The average serious STEM student studies their subject 50-60 hours a week, using entirely factual evidence based sources that haven't changed in centuries, and it still takes them 6-7 years before they can confidently make a diagnosis on any serious issue. If you think you're a geopolitics expert after a year of watching the evening news, then go ask a 1st year med student to operate on your pancreatic cancer.

Sorry are you an expert on what qualifies somebody to be an expert? Sounds like you need 6-7 years education in any relevant fields to make a determination about their competence.

-most STEM end up working jobs that are more politicized or tied-to-political machinations than ppl who get business degrees (as in: new political regime, mayor, etc...and your whole urban planning dept is gone with one stroke of a budget pen

-50-60 hours a week, taking 6-7 year before a confident diagnosis
(yeah maybe for Astrophysics...and even they couldn't figure out whether Pluto is a planet or not, and change their mind every few years).

People who talk STEM talk are the people I feel saddest for. You do realize what made a WESTERN education WESTERN, was the humanities: civics, law, etc. STEM is placing on the altar the ability to be robotic, and you will never beat machines, but you will lose (and have lost, scammed, grifted) a lot thinking you have a refrigerator repair diploma (STEM) and you make $100,000 more than a Philosophy graduate, that you are better.

With that mindset you will have the robotic Chinese being your lords soon to replace the current crop of aristocratic Ashkenazi (who usurped power and control from the WASP gentry).

I love my mom to death, but she's constantly on some Trump shit. I was talking to her tonight about how she thinks it's an embarrassment that a former president is getting indicted, but not that the same former president was a reality TV show host and wrestling bit player who publicly consorted with some dumb porno ho. I'll never understand Trump stans

Everyone is "out of the loop." News media has replaced the need for shock jocks. They're just riffing on the headlines with a straight face.

If you sincerely are invested in politics I know you're a stupid boring fuck and I can't wait to suffer through you parroting exact phrases from other people like ur blowing my mind. Yeah I know who Jordan Peterson is. You're not teaching me anything but you have the ability to memorize other peoples opinions. If you were more high test that knowledge would be replaced with sports stats.

Voting is gay unless you're doing it for the bit.
