i grew up in a high rise building and wasn''t allowed to own a dog. i bought a schnoodle a couple years back after trying to adopt from a shelter but they only had pits and elderly chiuauas! my schnoodle is the best and dogs are way better pets than cats if you have a yard and the time to walk them. #SchnoodleGang

It probably helps to be around them as a kid. I didn’t have a dog growing up, but my grandparents did, and I spent a lot of time at their house. I was little when they got her and a teenager when she died and was pretty fawkin upset by that because I tend to be a weepy faggot.
I didn’t have my own dog until well into adulthood, and I had a strong connection. The dog was purebred and had typical health issues, so she didn’t live as long as expected, and I was sad when she died. Again, faggot.
I told myself I would never have another dog, but then of course the kids wanted one. We have a mutt now who is kind of a stubborn asshole but also playful and friendly. I don’t quite have the same connection as with the other two, but I know my kids love her, so I’m just continuing the cycle.

Dogs are smelly and slimy and greasy and kind of a fucking burden. Annoys me that self-absorbed, attention-starved assholes bring their gross dirty animals into restaurants now. ME ME ME ME ME
