This is the media narrative, that Dave hates "affordable housing" and is therefore anti-poor. But what he's against is a poorly-planned housing development that will directly impact the value of his property, of which he owns a lot. They're trying to frame it like he's fighting some benevolent kindly housing project for working class families, but that's not it at all. He's fighting a developer who wants to fuck up the town with some ghastly, poorly designed project and is using the promise of "low income housing" to ram the project through.

Good call. Lots of piece of shit landgrabbers roll through with bad development ideas, devote 5% of the units to "affordable housing" as a shield against criticism, then deploy PR teams against critics. Hopefully that side of the discussion comes through in these news reports.

There is no "low income housing" involved. The developer will build a bunch of $800,000 homes, then throw up a handful of $350,000 condos and call it "affordable housing" even though it's just a way to cram more units on to the same parcel of land. Of course the Twitter faggots are wringing their hands and pretending that Chappelle is a wealthy out-of-touch celebrity fighting to keep the poors away from his town, but that's not even remotely what's happening. The guy has poured money into his town and he doesn't want to see that town play host to a shitty, poorly-planned monstrosity, that's all.
