The season that bended with the boys in jail with Randy and Lahey where they make amends would have been the time to end the series. It gave it decent closure, it was right before Lahey passed,

First few seasons are comedy gold. Becomes a parody of itself after that and lost its soul.

The show did have a proper ending, in 2007. The pre-Netflix series that ran in the '00s was perfect and (like early Simpsons) is what everyone remembers fondly.
A decade later, the man who created the show and wrote all the episodes, Mike Clattenburg, sold the rights to the three main actors who relaunched the show with Netflix and drove it into the ground.
They got Ronnie Wood - the man Black Earl said he could get for Ron & Fez.

I quit watching when Sebastian Bach showed up because it had gotten old and embarrassing by that point and that was like barely the midpoint of the series now.
