I am all fine with that. I don't even mind the insult.

I am asking why MOM'S specifically? Why not Parent's basement? How come suddenly mom has ownership of the basement?

I don't get that part.

The basement stairwell is often right off the kitchen. So when you holler upstairs for something (pizza rolls, bagel bites capri suns), it's Mom who answers.
