Im not sure, because the reality in the Middle Ages was so far from what they want to believe.

Most of these people would be relegated to miserable lives, rarely leaving their village for extended periods of time.

When the king or the lord was a bad guy, you couldn’t tweet about it or tell him to sodomize himself. In fact, you had a lengthy list of things that were considered doctrinal and it was almost forbidden to even question it. Pig would’ve been in the stockades before he hit 20.

Finally, even the “noble crusaders” that these tools like to fantasize about actually lived very hard and short lives. Going on crusade wasn’t some adventure, most of them almost hoped for death when they left. They felt dying for God’s war was a straight line to heaven, so their worldview was completely at odds with the D&D fags.

Joseph Cumia would’ve been some slovenly Moor busking for change on his Oud in Sicily.

Middle ages stuff is really interesting. Feudal government was actually a very stable form of government for the time. The constant power struggles are interesting reading. I'd recommend reading up on some of the French kings, like Charlemagne and Phillipe the Bald. They were some of the meanest and most ruthless bastards that ever lived.

Indeed. Charlemagne’s campaigns against the Saxons were pretty fawkin brutal.

The literary culture of the time is also fascinating. As is learning about some aspects of daily life (entertainment, for example).

I love studying most pre modern western civilizations.

Every women I've ever been with always playfully says "You're such a geek" when I'm reading a history based book, or watching something history themed on YouTube. I'm like would you prefer that I watch porn and play video game all day?

History slaps, son!
