I was big into wrestling figures back in the day, but it was usually a "one at a time" thing from Toys R Us on special occasions and such. Anyway my mom went to a flea market or yard sale and stumbled upon some other kid's entire collection of figures. After dividing it up with the brother I had like 20-25 new figures which was unheard of. I didn't give a shit that were used.

The John Lennon anthology boxset I asked for in 1998. I was 11 and it retailed for over $80 bucks and I never thought my folks would come through as they’d disappointed me in the past when I’d asked for shit like Nintendo, guitar, etc (I did get a guitar the following Christmas)

I loved it as I had been on a big Beatles kick when those reunion songs came out in the mid 90’s, I still have it although the cds are scratched to shit.

I got one for Christmas '99 and remember being one of the only kids in my school who had one. Such a great console that was just unlucky to come out a year before the ps2. If it would've had a DVD drive, it might've actually succeeded in competing with it but who the fuck knows.

When I first connected the system online I knew gaming would never be the same again. PS2 didn't even go online for a little bit after it's launch.

Probably when I got an electric guitar when I was like 12 years old. Shitty black Yamaha Stratocaster knockoff from Costco, but I was absolutely dumbstruck and just sat there looking at it for a few days.
