27-30. Had just gotten married, living in a 1 bedroom apartment with two decent incomes. No house, no lawn to mow, no snow to shovel, no debt and kids were still a few years away (to be clear I love my kids and do not regret having them).
It was sort of like being in college with a lot more money and a girlfriend you weren't worried about breaking up with you. Weekends were constant fun, dinners out, concerts, movies and LOTS of alcohol. Was still was in regular touch with a handful of friends from college and high school, so lots of people around to have fun with.
