I love how every episode has at least one shot where this motherfucker looks like he’s just gonna off himself.

the later seasons, especially the most recent episode that premiered, are really rounding out his character in a great way. His fucking out of control mania and wanting to get impossible shit done and then spiraling into a weird mini depression when it inevitably can’t happen- only to just keep moving forward with whatever idea grabs his brain next is so realistic

Amen to that the writers and Jeremy strong did a great job rounding out that character and giving him depth. Lost kid in an adult body

Episode 5 review -
This episode everybody came to the Thanksgiving dinner. Zefram Cochrane comes all the way from Canada to see the old man and the family under the false pretense of receiving an apology. Nobody really likes each other, and much like a different episode where they had a birthday the party isn't very good. They play a game and the old man loses the game because he can't remember things good, and when a small child confronts him about his loss he beats the small child up, which, let's be fair, is a pretty fair fight, as the old man is very frail and has mobility issues. The old man wins the fight, but the other people get angry at him. They decide their are going to vote him out of the company. This seemed like a pretty bad Thanksgiving dinner, and the family may have enjoyed themselves more if there was a television in the room as a distraction from more awkward social interactions, but instead they only had each others passive aggressive bickering to focus on. Cillian Murphy destroyed evidence of rapes and murders because otherwise this episode would just be about a shitty thanksgiving dinner. I think the main character should be the big boss because he hasn't had a stroke, and so he can perform duties more good than the old man can, even though his work ethic is less than stellar, and his vision muddled. I am sure in future episodes he will surround himself with competent people with a positive attitude and everything will be okay for everyone, even the old man.

Most of the writing staff on the show are English theatre playwrights. That should tell you something.
