Watching Norton on old Tough Crowd episodes is so embarrassing

He's a prototypical edgelord with the bug-eyed timing of a minstrel act. Watching him vainly attempt a bad boy scowl after another punchline where something extremely violent happens to something moderately annoying makes me kind of hate Colin for keeping that retard around.

Mostly it just shines a light on a what an idiot I am for ever thinking that dork was funny.

I tried watching one of his specials after the hate for him opened my eyes. For someone he and everyone tries to say is so honest and open (genuinely, he'd tell you if he wasn't), his act is the fakest fucking thing ever. It's the same with how he overacts everything else but this time his role is "comedian". Jimmy is a big fat phony.
I won't say he isn't funny because he has been. But he's a huge, overacting, insecure, gay phony and the opposite of honest and open. Just because you tell stories about having trannies shit on you doesn't make you honest. Being honest with yourself and everyone else and admitting you're gay and your persona is completely stolen or "inspired" by your friends is honest. What a worm.

Although I did find him funny of on the show during 'NEW and XM years, I never thought he was a good standup. I hated all his specials, Tough Crowd, that live NBC show he was on with Colin for like 3 episodes and I especially hated his time on as the "Uninvited Guest" on Leno.

He's made me laugh, but I don't think he's funny. He's credited with being quick, but how long should it take to come up with a "I hope you get ____" remark or a dated movie reference that people laugh at out of conditioning not recognition (is it just me or has Jim met a lot of people who like a character in "Poltergeist"?)

Everything he's put out that's entirely his vision is garbage. Every special, every album, every book. His Vice show was such a disaster, I don't think he ever mentions it anymore. He stands out like a sore thumb even next to Louis and DiPaolo's terrible acting in "Lucky Louie". Hell, his three second cameo in "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" is the worst in the montage.

Sure, when surrounded by other naturally funny people, he absorbs enough of their personality to mimic it efficiently and make humorous remarks, but what has happened when a lot of those people who shaped that comedic voice either died or stopped hanging around as much? Chip Chipperson.

People only liked Jimmy because other funny people said they liked Jimmy. Patrice, Louie, even Nana… all of them acted like he was hilarious because he could play off of them, so of course the audience is going to eat that up. It was a glorified con job.

Jim by himself isn’t funny or talented - he’s Chip Chipperson at best. Outside of that, he’s a lonely guy who obsesses over celebrity pictures and pays transsexuals to have sex with him. That is until they decide they’d rather he keep his money and never talk to him again, like alpha brotherman Princess Alena.
