No kidding. The 70's seemed like a great time for ugly guys in bands. The labels would actually put out bands that were good at their instruments and not for their looks. Atlanta Rhythm Section had a member that I was a mongoloid, but it turns out he's just goofy looking.

I was watching youtubes of the cars after ric ocasek died. It seems that once the music video era began they started having the handsome guy in the band sing all the songs. I'm guessing it was because ric was too ugly for tv.
