In certain situations it's a valid concern; how can you claim your people are held back from positions of power whilst simulltaneously portraying exactly the opposite through media? It's like having your cake and eating it, not to mention the fact that young people will grow up believing a version of history that did not happen.
Now if you're angry that The Little Mermaid is black that's a different story because what's a mermaid to begin with? When the concern crosses the border into a fantasy world it's a more frivolous nitpick. If that does concern you just take solace in the fact that they fuck up more than half the time (eg. Black Panther is a Sci Fi world about a functioning black society/If all the people in Fallout are black or female then why did the world end?).

I don’t even dislike it from a racist perspective, I just enjoy history and this isn’t history. It’s like you can play as nigger German officers in WW1/2 battlefield games. It ruins it because I have an autistic eye for historical detail.
I wouldn’t even care if they just put a title screen out before the episode saying it’s a fictional modern interpretation and not remotely accurate at all in any way. People will actually believe in the future that ancient English monarchs were niggers or that classical England was multicultural when it simply wasn’t. It bugs me on an autistic level of truth more than anything.

In this case, absolutely. There was none of this shit in the first season of Wolf Hall which is the most immersive historical drama I've ever seen. To ruin that just to tick some diversity boxes is ridiculous. Seeing non-whites in a show like this is jarring because they stick out so much. Keep the faggotry to fiction where it belongs. Leave history alone.

They're not rewriting history by doing this. It's a dramatization. Anybody who cared to do the research could find the demographics of Europe in a given time period. Anybody who learns about history through a soap opera is already a lost cause.
