One thing I've noticed is that a lot of the cheaper acoustic guitars just aren't set up properly at the factory - if you put a minimum of time and effort into adjusting the action and swapping out the saddle bridge for something that's not 1/8 inch higher than it needs to be they're pretty comparable to a mid-range. I get the impression that they just spend an extra hour on the mid-range guitars and hike the price by a few hundred.

Guitar prices are out of control now, like everything else. The days of a $600 Mexican Fender are long gone. Squier is going to fill that position I think, speaking of chinese made guitars. Squiers are legitimately quality instruments these days, and Fender seems to be using the brand to try interesting, experimental new models while they just pump out the same old strats and teles

It ain't pretty. I recently bought one of those Fender Lead II reissues before they go out of production for good and before the prices crack a grand for MIM (not even close to worth it)

I got one of the cheapest squires they had ($199) just to see if I was interested in playing and so far 3 people that have played it have said they are surprised at the quality of it. I'll probably upgrade this year to a Squire jazzmaster since I'm really committed now, the J Mascis one looks PFG.

He truly is a buffoon. First, nobody buying used gear really gives two shits why you're selling. Why on earth would you say you're doing acoustic gigs on cruise ships in your listing? Is he expecting people to be impressed by his next musical venture? Is he looking for "attaboys" from strangers who stumble on his listings? WTF? I'm baffled why anyone would include this information.

Second, he really is not giving "us" any respect. I've never felt compelled to do anything to get one if his gigs cancelled, but does he not understand he is one "ooh ooh ohh aah aah aah" email being forwarded to the cruise company away from being back at the moose lodge? Is he really so dumb that he does not understand the cruise gig lasts as long as WE decide it lasts?

Third, the arrogance with his pedal board listings is enraging to me. As one who dabbles in guitars and has a LOT of effect pedals (yes and loopers and DigiTech products). Just sell your shit. Don't makes people buy 8 pedals when they want one because you feel like you 'curated' (have not doubt this is how he feels about it) a perfect Stevie Ray Vaughn or Brian Setzer setup. Seriously, one of the great things about guitar is being able to tinker, make shit up, find the new sound you love ...... Oh no ..... Joey boy did all the work so you don't have to.

He can go scratch. I normally don't let this level of anger make it to the surface and generally don't say things like this but, I hope he falls off the boat.
