Why is the drag queen story hour for kids in quotes? Was it not a drag queen story hour that was targeted towards children? Also, where the fuck did this shut come from? I never heard of it while I was in school (80's to early 2000's or when I was a teaching). I took a few grad classes in 2011-2012 that covered educational leadership and administration and there was absolutely zero mention of drag queen story hour by the professors or by the teachers in my class.

My conspiracy theory is that Michelle Obama actually is a tranny and that's why this whole bullshit with LGBT shit flared up in the latter part of Obama's presidency. It's just really fucking bizarre that thinking children shouldn't be sexualized or taught about sex/gender in grades k-3 is somehow a right-wing nazi position.

That's the worst part to me. Every sensible take like we shouldn't chop the cocks off of kids, is somehow only defended by some maga faggot.

I would argue it accelerated more under Trump.

Obama's administration pushed for gay marriage. Conservatives opposed it but the SCOTUS ruled and like everything else, conservatives just gave up, but not before buying Chick-Fil-A, because that is how you protest in America if you're a White conservative. You buy shit.

Then there was some sort of North Carolina thing after Trump got elected that would prevent trannies from using a bathroom of a sex they weren't born as. In retaliation, Pornhub blocked North Carolina IP addresses. Anyway, conservatives did the whole slippery slope argument -- "If we allow this then trannies will use bathrooms with our kids".

In any case, that happened, and then drag queen story hours started up, and everyone opposing this shit has been right about it every single step of the way but because conservatives love losing, literally the only people opposing this shit and winning right now are nazis and White nationalists. I think this is a good thing, as when people see that nazis and WNs are morally in the right and actually shutting this shit down, then they will take notice and that Overton Window will change a bit.

This is why Ron DeSantis rescinded a liquor license. They need to show that Republitards are against this. The issue with DeSatan is that the drag show in question happened in December, so the damage was already done. That "Don't Say Gay" bill that was passed? The North Carolina thing was in 2015-2016. Before Trump was definitely running for president. In 2015 the issue arose and Carolina proposed bathroom bills in March of 2016- oddly enough, in 2016, Trump initially was against the North Carolina bill.

As much as the Left calls Trump a Nazi, he was literally the first US President to be in favor of gay marriage before they were elected. Hillary and Obama were openly against gay marriage until 2012- hell, if you go back to the 90's and listen to Bill Clinton on gay marriage, crime, and illegal immigration, you would think he was the second coming of Hitler. The speed in which incredibly weak rhetoric swept through and now dominates the conversation around Drag Story Time is not only bizarre, it's pretty disheartening.

That otherwise intelligent people can accept a rationale like, "it's no different than Shakespeare or classical pantomime" without any further thought on the subject or analysis of their own gut reactions really proves that in the echo-chamber, social media age the average person can be goaded into extremes way easier than I would have once thought.

When they discovered that online people who otherwise wouldn't give a shit could be goaded into parroting "KONY 2012" relentlessly, even though they didn't know shit about KONY. Today, can those same people tell you what KONY 2012 was about? No, they don't remember, because they've moved on to the latest thing they've been told to care about.
