I think it is microwaved because the cheese is melted, but not browned. Fucking microwaved onion soup.

They might’ve just thrown the cheese on, hoping the heat from the soup would melt the cheese on contact, but it was just lukewarm

You can tell they didn't do this because the cup isn't an oven safe one and the cheese, like you point out, is clearly just a slice of processed swiss. It's not even deli cheese. It's Kraft singles.
