Championing epkeki as a shining example of African literature can only be interpreted as racist pandering from white people who either aren't really reading any of his work beyond a glance or have no frame of reference to compare it to. I'm not exactly a fan, but drawing a parallel to Achebe is truly an insult from racists who see Ekpeki's black skin and Nigerian garb and think he must be similar to the only other Nigerian author they have heard of in the last 65 years.
