The Rolling Stones toured for so long it became a running joke, yet they are generally in the Mt. Rushmore of rock bands. So I dont really think that matters that muchI think them not going away and continuing to tour after saying the would retire back in the 80s really hurt them. Beatles broke up in 1970 and never reunited and Zeppelin called it a day when Bonham died. “Better to burn out than fade away” is very true when it comes to the legacy of the who. They went from “THE WHO!” To “The Who are still around and touring? Why?”
But then again that’s the stones, like Michael Jackson who called himself “the king of pop” the Stones called themselves “the worlds greatest rock and roll band” so I think it’s also how they market. Plus the Stones have much more songs the average person can name and are played often, the who only have a couple that get played often. The Rolling Stones toured for so long it became a running joke, yet they are generally in the Mt. Never listened to them where should I start?WWAWD Husker Du's Zen Arcade being like Quadrophenia, except better?

If it stinks I'll make a comment about your shirt. You have been warned.By 'like' I should say 'thematically similar'. Definitely with Zen Arcade. In a rush I'd say Something I Learned Today, Chartered Trips, Pink Turns to Blue, Newest Industry and Whatever (that little instrumental section towards the end rules) are the standout tracks.
You pretty much can't go wrong with any Husker Du though, even if later records become more poppy.
This guys my favorite guitar player. Not a bad vocalist either
Zen Arcade is a goddamn masterpiece. The fact that Zen and The Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime came out in the same year is just crazy. Punk rock/hardcore than spanned TWO LPS???! Nuts.WWAWD Husker Du's Zen Arcade being like Quadrophenia, except better?
