I can't wait for everyone to act surprised when they shutter xbox and playstation consoles. I think sony and microsoft see the writing on the walls and that's why microtransactions/ games as a service are being pushed, their last option is to bleed their consumers like a quarter arcade from the 90s.

Those are bad games. Zelda was just Breath of the Wild from 2017 but with basic construction mechanics geared for children. Incredibly lazy entry. Some games get free updates with more new content.
The Harry Potter one got recommended everywhere because trannies tried protesting it, because they’re mad at J.K. Rowling for standing up to them. Very funny, but don’t actually play the game, because it’s also designed for children.
You should look into Balatro, Subnautica, and Yakuza 0. All three are excellent and from the last 10 years.

give the system shock remake a go. I would say it was the best game of last year, but it's probably the best game in the past 5 - 8 years. gaming's a dead hobby

The writing‘s on the wall for both of them. There was an Xbox leak last year that revealed they’re phasing out discs entirely, taking away the last reason to buy one. They went all in on Game Pass, but there's no growth, and developers hate it because they make a lot more money from direct sales. The Xbox brand never did recover its reputation from the disaster that was the launch of Xbox One, where they tried to force a permanent internet connection with a permanently attached camera.
PlayStation's doing better, but Sony moved operations out of Japan and into San Francisco with the launch of the PS5. Its selection is notably sparse, and exclusives are known as some of the worst games in the industry. The tiered PlayStation Plus subscription service doesn't help, either, but at least they're not ditching discs.
Nobody complains about Steam Deck. So I will. It's a bulky bastard and the screen is just okay. Most games work well, but not all of them. It also doesn't come with a TV dock, but they'll sell you one for $80. And of course, there are no discs or cartridges, it's all downloads. Setting up pirated games and emulators can be a real hassle. But it's the best video game thing on the market right now, and that's just where we're at. PC's just the way forward now.

Elden ring is the last game I bought and really liked.

the first game had a rhythm to it that the second just completely abandoned. hm1 had tighter levels with an emphasis on movement, then hm2 threw all of that out in favour of stadium-sized maps with enemies that would kill you off-screen. I don't want to fucking corner creep, I want to KEEP MOVING. I s-ranked the majority of the second game as well, so I think I have some authority in being able to say it's shit. it's fine if you like it though, not trying to slag you off or anything
