This shit sounded stale and old around the 2000s, but its looping back around to sounding fresh again.
Nah, its me. I'm a faggot now.

Harkonnen translates to "Two-Asses". It's why they are angry all the time. Why is his ass in the front
Seems I'm not alone at being aloneWWAW singing "massaging my butt hole" when Message in a Bottle is playing?
I remember reading that Puff Daddy pays Sting thousands every year for sampling “Every Breath You Take” without his permission. My thoughts exactly. Sting is a total faggot and i'm glad he has to pay the wrestler a dollar a year to share the name.
Oh wow, thousands? That's gotta sting.I remember reading that Puff Daddy pays Sting thousands every year for sampling “Every Breath You Take” without his permission.
Yeah I only like a handful of their songs to be honest but they were legitimately amazing musicians.GTFO. Andy Summers is a guitar virtuoso and Copeland is one of the most respected drummers of the the past 40 years.
Sting's daughter's a tranny and played Freddie Miles (Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the movie) in that very good recent Netflix Talented Mr Ripley. I didn't know it was her/him at the time and wondered "why did they get a 12 year old English boy" for the part.
Nice fathering, stupid.
Oh wow, thousands? That's gotta sting.
I remember reading about that at the time. Rough shit. I read an interview with some hiphop producer, I think it was someone who worked with Danny Brown, saying that they basically don't bother to clear samples unless they think the album will sell well. I'm surprised more rappers don't get done for it with how much music they steal.Oh wow, thousands? That's gotta sting.
The Verve had to go through some real shit.
"The Verve negotiated rights to use the "Last Time" sample from the copyright holder, Decca Records. However, they did not obtain permission from the Rolling Stones' former manager, Allen Klein, who owned the copyrights to their pre-1970 songs, including "The Last Time".[5] When "Bitter Sweet Symphony" was about to be released as a single, Klein, then the head of ABKCO Records, refused clearance for the sample, saying the Verve had used a larger portion than agreed."
"Following a lawsuit, the Verve relinquished all royalties to Klein and the songwriting credits were changed to Jagger–Richards.[13][5] Ashcroft received $1,000.[15] His co-manager, John Kennedy, described it as "one of the toughest deals in music history".[16] According to the Verve's bassist, Simon Jones, the Verve were told they would be given half the royalties, but when the single began selling well, they were instructed to relinquish 100% of the royalties or remove it from sale."
"In 2019, Billboard estimated that "Bitter Sweet Symphony" had generated almost $5 million in publishing revenue"

They also took off as part of the “punk” movement while not really being a punk band.
I remember it was either Sting or Andy talking about it - like they “dressed” what was seen as punk at the time and were able to ride that into a record deal since labels were signing punk acts. Of course they said they never tried to be a punk act as they were white guys playing rock that was heavy on reggae influence. To be fair, there's numerous bands and singers that can get accused of that. Police are just the better known of them.

I met Stewart Copeland at a book signing in LA years ago and I got him to sign the police album Zenyatta Mondatta which I have framed and on display. I know people shit on that Norton type of behavior but I think it’s a good one.
I didn’t mean they were the first to do it (Louie Louie was a reggae cover etc) but for a “punk” band they leaned heavy on reggae. I know “Maneater” from Hall & Oates was originally meant to be slower and was written with reggae influence. If they didn't bring reggae influence into rock, someone else would've. It was always going to happen.
Fusion is good when it works right, like Anthrax and Public Enemy.

I paid $500(Canadian) for 2nd row center back in 2008 for the reunion tour. Elvis Costello was the opener and they all sounded amazing but the problem with being in VIP section is it's all old rich fucks and their whores who could barely give a fuck about the tunes. Just sitting on their asses drinking and eating.I like Copeland more than Sting. If Sting ever gets divorced you can guarantee a Police reunion tour.
Bring the Noise fucking slaps, Ray child.Fusion is good when it works right, like Anthrax and Public Enemy.
