No way. Anthony was the one who tried to poison everyone against Opie. Texting people and trying to get people like Danny to even go after Opie or people Opie was friendly with. Even doing stuff like going after FH Riley's just to try to get Opie to quit. And Anthony is the one who all of the comedians are now walking away from. He also was the one who would miss work and show up late due to his drinking which both Opie and Jim loathed. When Anthony basically faked going to rehab after his domestic violence arrest you could tell that Jim and Ron and lots of others were disgusted that Anthony didn't take his arrest seriously.

Opie had no chemistry with Jim on air. Hence the O&J show being garbage. But that was not out of hate, they just had nothing in common and knew that the dynamic did not work at all. This is why the J&S show is also unlistenable trash because those two have nothing in common and nothing to talk about. And also because Jim is simply better as a third or fourth mic and never leading the conversation. Whenever Jim would book guests for O&A, Opie would usually block them (I was blocked!!). Like Opie told Jim he didn't think Roy Den Hollander would be a good guest and denied him but finally relented after Norton said he would conduct the interview (leading to radio history).

Agreed, I've made that point before. Opie and Jimmy were actually friends and would hang out outside the show and they'd go to the gym together. That is much more than Jimmy and Ant ever did. Then after it all went down Jimmy talked about how they were never friends and he always thought Opie was a cunt. That hurts more coming from a "friend" than it does from someone you hate.
