Some of them were pretty terrifying, others not so much. The Cuckoo Clock of Doom is one of the more retarded ones I remember. Also that one about the living sponge under the sink. What the fuck was that?

The book that scared me the most when I was a kid was the Whitby Witches by Robin Jarvis. I read it while I was there on holiday and it made me lose a lot of sleep.
