Did you even watch Godfather I or II? Godfather literally has them all betray each other and they are all miserable. Including Michael ordering the death of his brother. Michael also kills his brother-in-law for betraying the family but leaves him alive for beating his sister nearly to death. Michael's first wife is blown to smithereens for reciting the days of the week incorrectly. His second wife leaves him after being abused and aborting a son.

Michael's children are nearly killed in an assassination plot. By the end of Godfather II he is making money from prostitution, drugs, and gambling. There is zero honor and respect. What movies did you watch exactly? The only difference between Godfather and Goodfellas or Casino is that they dressed nicer in the Godfather films.

If anything Goodfellas is the least realistic. They changed so much from Henry Hill's life story you might as well watch Lord of the Rings if you want the story of his actual life. Karen Hill's depiction alone was ridiculous. In real life she was like a black widow bitch who was sleeping with mafia members and getting them to hit other guys for fun. She told Paulie that Tommy made a hard pass at her and so he whacked him out of jealously which was hilarious. When Henry got locked up she started banging everyone in his crew and became Paulie's main girlfriend.

Hill was apart of that, though. He lucked into being around and associating with some heavy guys (he was like a fly on the wall(. Wiseguy is mostly true as is Goodfellas (with some timeline fuckups and creating composite characters). It's only after Goodfellas did Hill start embellishing his mob career. His career was fairly short. He was finished before he hit 40. There's only so many times you can tell the same stories, so Henry made some shit up, but it was independent of the movie and book from Nicholas Pileggi (which were generally grounded in reality).

Henry's later lies are akin to Michael Franseze and Gravano talking about Hoffa's murder or Gravano saying that he and Gotti were on the scene of the Castellano hit. It's all apocryphal bullshit, because they have run out of shit to say.
