Something that pisses me off about Christians. Can le religious experts confirm I'm right about this?

I honestly don't understand the Jesus shit at all. I feel like I was born with a blind spot to it.

I was the same way most of my life, then I read about Jesus as a historical figure, and realised his teaching was wise beyond human ability, so I read Mere Christianity and loads of CS Lewis. Then I read the Bible.

If you actually put the time in, it becomes glaringly apparent that the Bible is divinely inspired. Atheists haven’t read it, or have read snippets to find ways to mock it.

The problem is that so much of modern day Christianity is performative and surface level only. It's difficult to discern what is a genuine plea for spiritual aid from what is simply vague-booking and attention seeking.

There used to be this group of college aged Christians in my town who called themselves The Jesus Crew. They would wait outside of night clubs, and as the club goers would exit, they would bombard them with tracts, or "let me pray for you".

That used to piss me off so much because of how disingenuous it was, not to mention that you are going to push those club goers further away from God and the Bible than they were before, but it was never about that. It was about them getting to pretend that they were better than these heathen club goers.

If they were genuine, they would congregate in the parking lot and pray over the people inside, without them ever knowing that they were even there. Let God do the work, and let God receive the glory. But they wanted that glory themselves.

Yeah that sounds about right.

I'm not arrogant enough to assert there is no god like Dawkins and Pat, but I'm not cocksure enough to suck off some little Arab Jew all day and night and close off all other options.
Honing in on His race is the epitome of putting the cart before the horse. He's God. Beyond that He was against every vile thing that people detest about Jews. That's why they had Him killed and why they hate Christianity so much.

Edit: not all of them, obviously. The first Christians were Jews who were ready for the gospel and saw Christ for what He is; the fulfillment of the prophecies about the messiah.

I respect that. It just personally doesn't register.

Yeah but you come at it from a state of already believing.

To spook, it's a Jewish person claiming he's God. Not God stating he's God.

So why would spook trust that Jew?

Whenever I'm on some Christian page, there will be a myriad of comments like "please pray for me because of X", or "please pray for me because of Y", and worst of all, "please pray for me because of Z".

Haven't these fucks ever read the Bible, where it makes fun of people for praying for specific things? It literally says to just do the Lord's prayer, because God already knows what you want so you don't have to pray for it.

FUCKING PISSES ME OFF. So many fucks haven't even read the first Gospel where it says that (I'm pretty sure it was in Matthew).

Am I right? @Turry Fawks @NoBacon @Easily_Remembered
I'm catholic we dont read the Bible that's for protestants, and Nick Rekieta.
