My job has a policy that says employees can't smoke, and I had to sign a form when a started saying that smoking tobacco products could be grounds for termination. One or two people still smoke in my organization, but they're both in a different office, and HR doesn't feel compelled to do anything about it because the numbahs are so small.

As someone who started smoking at 12 or 13 (maaaaaaaan) and continued well into their early 40's, and still chews nicotine gum, and, on special occasions, chews tobacco; I've never made my penchant for nicotine anyone's problem but my own.
So yes, people who "need" a smoke break are lazy white trash who need to be fired.
