Weird, yes.
He says he was delusional until his teens, but then he wised up and left church and never looked back. It was then he decided religions are not just made up, but full of evil people, gays and pedos (aways have been and always will be). Uncle included it seems, but above all "broken people."
I wonder what the basis of this sudden change of heart and philosophy was?
He believes Jesus never existed, but if he did, in "other versions" he married a prostitute. (You mean the DaVinci code? That "other version" of the Bible?) That was pretty funny. He also doesn't know what a deity is, but he's super smart and scored over 1100 on SAT.
I too am an atheist, but it doesn't take an 1100 SAT to know very very many very smart people have been very seriousy studying these topics for a very very long time. I'd imagine collectively they might know a touch more than me. And when billions of people disagree with me, there's a non-zero chance that just maybe I might be wrong.
It seems kind of dumb to close you mind to greater knowledge or understanding just because your religious uncle diddled you when you were a teen .
