This Rob Sheffield guy seems like a huge faggot (perhaps an even bigger one than Patrick and Chris Kattan. Sheffield also had Colin Quinn listed at 140.

What's this guy's problem?

He has such comedy luminaries like Jay Mohr, Charles Rocket (known more for killing himself than SNL), Tony Rosata (a real who the fuck is this guy?), Finesse Mitchell (who flat out did jackshit on SNL), listed higher than Norm.

I can't go on as the list is too fucking retarded to continue. I understand writing these lists for clicks and trying to be a contrarion/hair puller of sorts to generate heat, but Rolling Stone might as well have had a legitimate retard write the list. He'd probably do it for pennies and it would make more sense.

Rolling Stone has been complete shit for years, I remember they did a 100 greatest guitarist list and it was awful. They really had an issue with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau on the cover with the caption “Why can’t he be our President?”
It's all clickbait to be honest witcha. Deliberate misranking garners more interest, discussion and shares than consensus/correct lists. People who look at TopX-lists are faggots anyway, so they're tapping gold and making revenue.

Rolling Stone put a terrorist who killed and maimed innocent people on its front cover. A picture no different from any (other) manufactured teen heartthrob.
That was horrible, it lead to women defending him and claiming he’s innocent just because they thought he was attractive. Nice empowerment, stupid.

Rolling Stones hasn't been on the ball for well over 20 years at this point so I can't say I'm shocked.

I skimmed through their broken ass site and the top 15 consists of women and people they couldn't afford not to place that high (Eddy Murphy, Chevy Chase, Belushi) so there's some hard-hitting journalism. Half the descriptiond have some dumb political reference because of course they do.

I've also never watched SNL and I doubt anyone under the age of 30 does either. Nice "cultural force that transcends generations", stupid.

I can’t remember the last time anyone said “did you see that funny new SNL skit?” Def nobody under 30 watches it. I think the last funny person I saw on there was Bill Hader.

I'll admit I'm quite in the dark when it comes to SNL, but has it actually been a significant career booster for anyone involved over the last couple of decades? When I think of really succesful comedians since the 90s, I can mainly come up with guys who made it on their own terms.

The only name to the contrary is Adam Sandler I suppose, and that's mainly through his nepotistic scam movie franchises afterwards.

Will Ferrell was probably the last real big star to come from it, others have had levels of success. Mike Myers was another but he hasn’t been a thing in years (I hear he’s a real asshole) and people like Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan etc. have done well.
