Ah ok, I thought you meant a hit like it went over big with the staff or something.

Ben was great with the contacts he already had, and Steve had the Penthouse / porn girl connections but we didn't have the person who was going to bring us grade A guests and that's what XM needed at the time to put the show over the top. Ben calling Jay Mohr to call for a 9th time wasn't going to cut it anymore. CTB was hired to book the A & B list guests we weren't getting on our own. I remember we got Tarantino at CBS, Mythbusters, Mike Rowe, Kurt Russell...etc. Ben was never gonna book guests like that. Ben was better at this shit than Steve, but all Steve was going to book on his own was Penthouse girls and "Corey From Australia".

Everyone wanted a cool retro gaming standalone. Nobody wanted to do it themselves and nobody wanted to pay for 30 year old games.

Nobody is stopping you from loading up a RPi with RetroPi and going ham. Most people don't have the reading comprehension skills to understand the directions. Additionally, nobody wants to pay $200 bucks to load their own ROMs onto the fucking thing.

I wasn't selling bootleg Nintendos, I was selling Plug & Play all-in-ones to lazy fucks who couldn't be bothered to do it themselves.

You can't sell ROMs when they are free with purchase of the hardware. :) Wanna buy one? I had a great case supplier, and I sold mostly 8BitDo Controllers. Who's gonna be the guy to step away from the bit and see what reality looks like? It was super fun to make these.

Get a NES case, hollow it out, get your components, find your high quality stickers, blah blah, do it yourself. Make this yourself. I'll be proud of you.

Open a NES cartridge, fit a raspberry pi 4 inside, put a new sticker on it and pretend I did something? I'm good. That's hardly a project for a ten year old.
