It’s so funny to me that there’s real sci-fi and fantasy fans here. Never liked the genre. Read lord of the rings in 3rd grade and thought it was alright. That’s about it. I still respect the genre but the people like Rick are exactly what completely ruins it. It’s supposed to be escapism as you pointed out.
