It’s one thing if he lived very far away from family (like different time zones far away) but he’s not. His family isn’t far and he’s spending thanksgiving alone at a bar. Someone pointed out but it’s true, he believes the bartender / wait staff are his friends. With thanksgiving people usually have to decide which side of the family they spend it with (mom side / dad side) or if in a relationship / married it’s either your family or their family you spend the day with. Pat is alone at a bar because he not only wasn’t invited he was told by Niki’s family to leave the pig at home.
