The car is below 5 grand selling private. It’s got a ton of miles and multiple accidents which kills the value. Also the MKE winters and no garage means the years of salt have done a number under the car.

In the auto sales business he has what’s called an auction car which is taken directly to get whatever they can at the auction because it’s got to many miles to sell on the lot and won’t even waste money getting it cleaned or looked at by the mechanics. There it’s bought by a buy here / pay here place for people with awful credit and the car is “as is” meaning no warranty. Some places will even put something on the car that will make it not turn on if you don’t pay your car bill. Years ago I worked a dealership where someone brought their buy here / pay here car that they didn’t pay and wasn’t starting. Guess they thought we could take that off for free or some stupid idea. A manager had to explain to them their car isn’t working because they haven’t been making payments.
