He paid an admission fee, which was probably reduced by around $40 because he's a presenter. He also paid train fare to and from and a hotel room for I think 3 nights (Thurs-Sat). Plus Uber/Lyft fees and food and drink, which for Rick is a substantial amount of money, and he probably dropped over a grand for this little ego boost.

Did he sell any books though? He'll claim he made the money back in sales. I just checked Amazon. All 6 of his titles have a best seller rating higher than a million (Lower is better) for paperback. In the Kindle edition, Gate Crashers is around #251,000 and the rest are all above 500k. He took the train so maybe he took a dozen books to hand sell or most likely give away to fat girls he wants to sleep with or bartenders/waiters as a tip because he's cheap and broke.

He's a complete failure and also he's very fat.

Thanks for pointing out the "listeners" technicality. It is probably mostly online listeners and the room was mostly empty. Anyone with a job in tech has probably given presentations to bigger and more engaged audiences, and those presentations are about something useful that has business value, not total horseshit.

I spent a year in Chinaland teaching "English" and every week I had to do a thing called "English Corner" where I had to do a PowerPoint presentation on Western culture to a minimum of 150 insectoids. It's fucking nothing. Those things had a higher intellectual capacity than whatever Fatso's preaching to and they were all literally retarded due to the Cultural Revolution.
