Ew. That was seriously the corniest movie ever.

It can't rain... ALL the time.

Do I smell.... GASOLIIIIINE?

Remember that part where he grabbed onto that junkie lady and the heroin came out of her veins?

Ugh. That movie was so bad God killed the star as punishment during filming.

I think that it had the problem of relying upon - and consequently identifying with - its "alternative" soundtrack and indeed that whole grunge movement.

Certainly parts of it are very dated, but I still enjoy it. It's like Highlander - a very fun movie that inexplicably begat a series of increasingly shitty sequels.

Hell, they both even evolved into 90s era TV shows ( though Highlander's was far more successful).

It did have one Pantera song on it.

my top 5 movies of all time are from the 90's (in no particular order)
Excessive Force (this is a wonder "action noir" movie that never got any love- and Im so happy no one else knows about it)
The Perfect Weapon
Rocky IV
Clerks (FUCK YOU)
there's one more
The perfect weapon? I just saw that recently for the first time and was surprised it went under my radar since I thought I had seen all those “type” of movies. I’ve heard of Excessive Force, will have to check out

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight

Billy Zane is great in it and it’s a pretty cool story.

Bordello of Blood

Another Tales from the Crypt movie where Dennis Miller basically just rattles off one-liners while fighting vampire prostitutes.
I remember howling at Bordello of Blood as a kid. Does it hold up?

Total Recall slaps, child.

Cape Feare is hilarious

Miller’s Crossing

Barton Fink

Heavyweights still makes me laugh

Hard Boiled

Dark City

Lesser ones that fit what you are talking about more:

The Ninth Gate has some lame stuff in it but I like the vibe of it.

Under Siege rules

One with Dave Foley called The Wrong Guy made me laugh but I haven’t seen it in a long time.

Three Kings is a fun pre 9/11 war-related movie

Baseketball

Blue Streak

Encino Man

City Slickers
Hard Boiled is a fucking shout, not enough praise for that film.

Haven’t seen it in years so I’m not sure. But Pat always reminds me of a scene where a guy try’s to “Tough Guy Tomlinson” Dennis by asking him if he’d like to take it outside. And Dennis just says no thanks he’s not in the mood for a blowjob. That line always got my ribs.
