The hypocrisy is really amazing once you learn about India's caste system. Kaling is part of a small minority of privileged, upper-caste Indians, exactly the same as the privileged, coddled white people she demonizes. NPR's Rough Translation - one of the wokest of woke shows on that network - did anepisode on Indian castes and how the discrimination between levels carries over to America, and how all the white people are pretty much completely ignorant about it but Indians are constantly judging and ranking and discriminating between themselves. There's even a short segment with Mindi Kaling and Kamala Harris talking about Indian food and vegetarianism, but points out that is a top-caste practice, and that most Indians wouldn't relate to these two super bourgeois, upper crust Indians.
