There is a push to do away with "tracks" in public schools but any respectable private school has them and most publics schools still do. The only ones that don't are dumb hick schools that don't have enough kids and, ironically, the ultra elite prep schools where everyone is trained to be top tier.
I got a D in algebra during my first quarter at military school. I literally skipped school from 7th-10th grade (1,000's of absences and my parents were almost legally fucked). I didn't give a shit, but my parents eventually did, so they sent me away. It took me a quarter (9 weeks to figure out school was a game & it was for faggots)-- and I aced it until I graduated. Received academic scholarships from every college I applied to - I had a good SAT score.
