It's fine. Anyone can cook to their own tastes and ANYONE CAN DO IT. But yeah, texture-wise they're not gonna be the best. Neither crunchy and fresh or cooked down and well-incorporated, just something in between.

I'd probably sauté the chilies either a lot earlier or throw them in just at the end and toss. Adding sliced onions or peppers at the end is a PFG way of adding some texture and flavor to a sloppy mass of ground meat like this.

But for real, folksh: I always had the ground beef with onions and the taco seasoning. The red taco sauce, jalapeños and other things (lettuce, cheese, you get the deal) are set up in a buffet format.
