There’s a misconception what a “dad bod” is. It’s a physically capable man who’s in shape but through other important commitments as a father, has also put too many pounds on. Dad bods are muscle and broad but with a layer of fat.

I have “dad bod” atm and I’m ashamed of it, but I still lift weights every day. I’ve just let myself gain too much weigh while still working out.

This is 100% right and I hate seeing guys like Pat claim to have “dad bods” yet have never worked out. I’m in my mid 30s and joke that I work out so people will say “hey that guy looks like he used to be in shape”
