Jim & Sam had a terrible interview with Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer) yesterday. He was giving them gold about sneaking into the country and being a non-English-speaking homeless person and they just did nothing with it at all.

You could tell Cesar sensed the interview was tanking, and tried to switch gears to talking about society and the human condition, so Jim & Sam decided to kiss his ass and basically say he's so successful he's not even really part of society anymore, which utterly sandbagged Cesar's attempt to salvage the interview. They poorly shilled a GPS collar he's selling and the segment sputtered across the finish line.

I normally wouldn't criticize but you could tell they could have just gotten out of the way and Cesar would have Mexicanly done all the work by himself.

Norton has been telling his husband they were going to get a dog and he didn't even ask what's a good dog for him or anything? Just running the clock every show, I guess.

The only good interviewer was Larry King and he died years ago. He was impervious to embarrassment and asked only the most important questions.

Norton is awful as an interviewer because he only cares about KISS and degenerate sex acts with men who dress as women. You could have the most interesting person in the world on and Norton would be bored unless they like to blow other men.

Or worse, he'd feign expertise on the given guest's subject matter after reading a Wikipedia article.

Being a good interviewer is about asking the right questions. With nuscisians actors and whatnot, you can’t grill them to much, but you can’t come off like a fan that’s just interested in them. You have to seem like you have an idea of what kind of questions you want, gain the persons trust a little to get their guard down, and hopefully they say something worth while. What Howard did was just interrogation rapid fire, he was just ask whatever was in the top of his head, and if he wasn’t entertained with the answer he would interrupt with something like “man you must get laid a lot” “how much do you get laid” to throw them off. With opie he is more laid back to try and lull people in with a false sense of security before he dropped the hammer, but too often he was just nice to people and it would be boring. And Anthony just does his people pleasing stuff and fake laughing, horrific, and what can I say about jim that you guys haven’t already?? I would say out of them all Sam is probably the best at interviewing but I don’t like sam
