How was it a disaster? We lost money? We’re not there. That’s what matters. We’re not fighting “terrorism”. If we cared about terrorism we’d be running over the warlords in Africa. Even if you can argue we’ve stifled it’s threat to us, it’s not a justification for our actions in the Middle East. We’re the terrorists to many of them and it’s hard to argue when we push a button and their whole family dies. Open US involvement in Syria and Yemen were both started under Obama. We were preparing for ukraine in around 2015-2016 if I’m not mistaken as well. Russia just didn’t pull the trigger at that time. I said open because we were no doubt behind the beginnings of the “revolutions” much like what we did in South America.
