He's bitter. He can scream "I've been over here eight fuckin' years! Real failure, huh!", but it's clear he expected a lot more out of his shitty media empire. All his "friends" are gone and all he has left are a roster of increasingly embarrassing Bobo-tier retards. He downsized his shitty albeit still large home into some thrown together hovel down south, where he'd never been before, somehow picked the blackest fucking city to throw it up in, and clearly never intends to leave it once he settles in.

No more high stakes gambling, no more wild compound parties. No more "funniest guy to never do stand-up!", no more rubbing elbows with celebrities on occasion. Who wouldn't be bitter at that point?

His vision was literally him becoming the 'Opie' of O&A. Running the show and the network. Conductor of the train. He tried to hire a bunch of 'Anthonys' who also rejected and backstabbed him (or front stabbed for Artie, his favorite stabbing style). He had people talking negatively about him behind his back (but for legitimate reasons because his network was abysmal). He kept losing other shows to other networks. All the backstabbing and pathetic faggy behavior he did to Opie he ended up doing to himself.

And it's not even that people turned their backs on him. They never even bothered to help him in the first place. Neither Opie nor Norton cared enough to work for Anthony. None of the comedians wanted to cohost or put their shows on with Anthony. None of them wanted to bring Anthony to their own networks either. It also didn't help that Keith would constantly lie to other comedians about the health of the network as well. Even telling other comedians and podcasters "we have signed Ron Bennington" or "Opie is going to run the network" to try to lure people into signing with Compound Media.

We know that Anthony always felt he was a superior businessman to Opie. He hated how Opie negotiated their deals. Jill Nicolini exposed that Anthony would take anti-depressants during contract negotiations because they stressed him out. He wanted to write a book and Opie told him that writing a book was a desperate and lame move and a cash grab. So the second he was fired he began writing a book (which bombed).

When Anthony first began hosting Compound shows he was warned by Sirius that it violated his contract. Instead of making professional shows on a giant media company, or booking himself on talk shows, he was blackout drunk abusing a retard who had vomited in his basement. And displaying other degenerate behaviors to the world. He didn't understand that his Compound shows were basically tarnishing his image.
