King of the Hill is probably the best show ever made.

Gin Blossoms are the *2nd* best thing to come out of Tempe :) Both are in town for me late next month. (And Ex-RCPM guitarist Scotty Johnson is now with back with the Gin Blossoms)

Fair enough! Didn't know Scotty had dipped for a minute. I've got a giant self portrait Jesse drew after a show once. Hung out with those dudes a lot actually but it's been a long time.

I've really been wanting to see The Smithereens with Robin on vocals but he only does the east coast shows, evidently he fled AZ

Hank's worship of Tom Landry always made me laugh

And I felt they pulled off their sappy endings without everyone being gay and everyone remaining in character.

One of my favorite episodes about Hank and Bobby isn't that funny. Hank is embarrassed by Bobby's dream of being a comedian throughout the series. Bobby starts doing his comedy at a Strickland Propane event in which Hank actually finds it funny. Bobby and some people from Hank's job start the Propaniacs, a shitty improv comedy group based around propane. The end of the episode Bobby realizes that it's painfully unfunny, but he doesn't care because it genuinely makes Hank laugh and that's good enough for him.

Or another moment is Khan built a fence to prevent Bobby and Connie from seeing each other. Connie gets a ladder and scales the fence so Bobby goes into the garage to get one of his own. Hank catches him, realizes what's going on and helps him get the ladder without saying much. Bobby kisses Connie while Hank smiles and walks inside and Khan freaks out.

I enjoyed the sentimental episodes a lot and I usually hate that shit in comedies. They pulled it off very well.

I agree completely. Unlike every other show KOTH never would give you the cheesy ending that would satisfy the characters but make the audience roll their eyes. The scaled it back to just minor victories that usually meant more. One I can think of is Peggy entered a beauty pageant to win a new truck because Hank wouldn't buy it for her. Peggy's a beast and obviously not going to win so rather than write it so that she wins on some inner beauty bullshit or have Hank spend a ton of money, Hank paints his old truck to look like the one she wants. He does it so she won't embarrass herself and Peggy is touched by the gesture and doesn't do the contest.

One of my favorite moments is when Kahn yells at Hank "Hank Hillbilly, keep your Bobby away from my Kahn Jr.! That boy is girl crazy." and Hank walks around his fence and let's out a huge sigh of relief that Bobby isn't a queer.
