The only issue I care about in all of this is punishing someone for saying something while they commit a crime. The fact that this can happen in a country that supposedly has freedom of speech is not good. It will lead to someone saying, "He called me a nigger," during stuff like this, whether or not it's true, and the fact is there ought to be no extra time for words spoken during the commission of a crime.

Haven’t read the whole argument here, so maybe I’m missing something. Yes, it’s retarded to get extra time because you said mean words. I’d say the point of this is optics. You want to beat it? Play their game, or create a new one (I think I’ve said enough I want no government and blah blah blah I want it to end too). Don’t give them an inch. Just call him a faggot. They have less quarter then. Or assault him and say nothing. Doing both just gives them ammunition against you and speech. You don’t win by crying when you lost in the court of public opinion. Say what you want about white woman lover and woman abuser MLK, they use his non violence (to promote civil obedience) method and people lap that shit up.
