I've never seen Ghostbusters and this trailer just popped up on my recommendations.

I watched the original Jurassic Park a couple of weekends ago with the brats. Fucking thing holds up great. The combination of top notch animatronic dinosaurs and CGI that's basically a supporting act to the robots suspends your disbelief so much better than CGI alone; where you feel like you're basically just watching a video game.
It’s amazing how that and Terminator 2 still hold up effects wise years later while CGI in 2023 looks dated as soon as it comes out. I tried watching some of the recent Fast X movie and even with a large budget the CGI looks so fake.

If you REALLY want to see bad CGI just watch (well, try to watch, it’s beyond awful) Expendables 4. It’s the worst I’ve ever seen in a film that was released theatrically. It makes the awful effects on the made-for cable movies on the Sci-Fi channel look real.

The sound was good as well. The T-rex scream was a baby elephant who they'd been recording all day and he only made that sound once. Good animatronics, lighting, atmosphere all adds up to something that still looks good.

I believe T2 was mostly practical effects and they just used CGI for a few key moments.

How the fuck did they do this in 1991??

Did they do the reflections by hand frame by frame? I have no idea.

I shut it off at 1:08 because I can already tell it's gonna be another woke movie.

I almost shut off at 17 seconds when you already see someone on their phone.

I don't think I'm suited to live in this generation....

Where's my CHOP CHEE

Patton Oswalt and Kumail whatever the fuck his shit name is-- fucking yuck.

He might be hack but James Cameron at least has always been concerned with having the best special effects and spent lots of time getting it right. I have T2 in 4K and holy shit it looks perfect - he shot it right in the first place.

Haven't watched the trailer, but it will be terrible just like Afterlife. Let this franchise fucking die already
I heard when they would send Bill Murray the script over the years for the 3rd movie (that would have had Chris Farley) he would call back and put the phone up to his paper shredder letting them know how he feels about it.

Jeff Goldblum is Jewish his character stated in Jurassic Park 2 the Lost World where he has a nigger daughter (that's never explained)

Artie, how have you never seen Ghostbusters? What are you, square or sumthin’?
I had parents who had no interest in any entertainment that wasn't on basic cable when I was growing up.

I've never seen Star Wars or Indiana Jones either. Along with a bunch of others.

I did see Mr. Baseball a few times when I was little though.

So my Pop’s was right. Rican culture doesn’t extend beyond HBO and stabbing people in the ribs.

Btw, Artie if you want a link to those movies I have a pretty decent connect.

You're probably better off the less you see of garbage pop culture. People who don't rely on shitty references for jokes or using movies for having a personality are always more interesting to know.
