Is it normal to never give a fuck about celebrities dying?

Whenever some big celebrity dies, Mathew Perry obviously being the latest, you see countless "I'm literally crying right now/I'm so upset" etc. type of messages online. Not to sound like an edge lord but I never give a fuck, even if it's someone I was a fan of. I don't know how strangers who never met these people can possibly care so much. Just because somebody was in a TV show you liked, how does them dying have any impact on you? Faggots.

I think there's people (women and faggots) who think that the only appropriate response upon hearing about anyone's death they know the name of is tears. Like they HAVE to cry or else they're a bad person. It's worse to fake it. It makes me think of those little North Korean fuckers having to throw themselves on the ground and wail and scream-cry for a guy who spent his life being horrible to them.

Nobody fucking cried for me. I even got shafted at the Oscar memorial.

I used to play this game with my mom for years where we would try to tell each other first whenever a celebrity died. There were no "points" but an unexpected or very famous person was still worth more. Then she died and I told my brother he has to play with me but it's not as fun.

Only a very few celebrity deaths made me sad - off the top of my head was Norm (because I was such a huge fan of his comedy and observations) and Eddie Van Halen (I studied his stuff for years to play like him) but most it’s just “oh, that sucks”

The Mathew Perry one being so big is weird, he was a known addict (I remember even before the internet was huge this was well known since he’s weight would drastically change from season to season due to his using) but only was know for being on friends. I don’t think most people can name any movie he was in besides whole nine yards.

I’ll be sad when my wrestling heroes die - Vince McMahon, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Scott Steiner, etc.

That’s probably about it.
I was sad when Terry Funk died, seemed like he was invincible. I’m sure many will be upset when Hogan and Flair go - Flair seems like he will go before Hogan since Hulk’s problems are just related to his back. Ultimate Warrior was a weird one because of that promo he did about living forever and was dead about 12 hours later.

Friends was huge though and even became big with zoomers because of Netflix. Also him being the first of the main cast to die means it was always gonna get a lot of coverage. I get it being big news but I still don't understand how people can give so much of a shit about it.

I know the show is huge, especially with how it’s still big even though it went off the air 20 years ago but it’s weird how it’s like 3 days since he died and I’m still seeing news about it and people losing it. I was hoping people would bring up that he claimed he created sarcasm and was known to be a pain to work with cause of his long history of drug abuse. Funny how pretty much everyone on the show couldn’t do much outside of the show - I still don’t understand how Jennifer Aniston is this big A-List star when the majority of her movies didn’t make money and weren’t even that good. She’s had many more flops than hits.
