Did you at least watch The End of Evangelion, from 1997 or 1998? If you didn’t, you truly missed out and you should rewatch the series and then that.

I just started watching the “Rebuild” movies from 07-21, but it’s a very different story AFAIK.
Nope but I'll rewatch it and then watch that. Thanks for the heads up brothaman.

25/26 are the only good episodes.
As a kid I thought they were a total cop out - I felt they were lazy. Watching them last week I thought they were brilliant. But with the context of EoE I think they actually get even better.

I read an interview with Anno where he said one of his proposed ideas for 26 was just him walking out and talking directly to the audience, no animation. Imagine if they let him do that. What a maniac.

In their own way, GnR were a shock to the system like Nirvana would be a few years later. They had a grittier, dirtier, dangerous more punk-inspired sound that stripped back a lot of the hair metal faggotry and excess.
In hindsight GNR were kind of the bridge towards Nirvana and Soundgarden, etc. Appetite is way more aggressive (and good) than the other hair/glam metal stuff that was around then.
