I think he's got his laptop open in front of him so he can do some real work while waiting for Fatrick's case to collapse. That's probably why he doesn't realise why Mr. Barnes isn't there; his mind isn't on the job he's billing for. He's got a PC screen off to his left (our right), I think in vertical orientation, probably with case notes on it. The camera's to our left of that, either on a stand or on top of another vertical monitor either switched off or showing something dark (like Nikki's gentlemen friends). Also, he's dragged the desk over to the corner of the room so he's got a nondescript background, which is good; although he should adjust the white balance of his screens so he looks less like a vampire and straighten the camera.

If we had the old sub, we could take SpaceEdge's tour of his apartment, figure out what room he's in.

Brinton has definitely already mentally checked out. He said as much during the last snooze fest. He’s finally realizing what a maniac Pat is (nice realizing, stupid) after ApostleGate came out.

I agree that the ambiance Not Dabessdo has set up looks like a camp horror movie. Like one of those Paranormal Activity films where if you pan to either side and back you’d see Betsy gnawing on a brontosaurus bone.
