I'd say For Your Consideration is the weakest. I remember liking A Mighty Wind a lot but I remember almost nothing from it except for the Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara parts. Where with Spinal Tap and Best In Show I remember everything.

Nothing will ever top Spinal Tap. I hesitantly look forward to this sequel they're working on.

What Smokey and The Bandit is to southern American Hicks, Spinal Tap is to every musician. It's our The Ten Commandments.

Yeah that seems to be what many say for Christopher Guest “mockumentary” movies it goes 1 best in show 2 mighty wind 3 waiting for guffman 4 for your consideration. Consideration was a great idea (fake hype for a movie) but not executed well

Also - was Fred Willard one of the funniest people ever? Seriously, I think I liked him in everything he did. What a talent.

I read Ozzy Osbourne didn’t know it was a comedy as a lot of what happened in the movie happened to him (can’t find the stage, etc) and the Stonehenge part I believe was based on Sabbath’s Dio years.

Have you watched it with the cast commentary? They stay in character the entire time and is arguably funnier than the original film.

I just watched the Zombie Bloodbath trilogy. The first one is on YouTube but the other two are hard to find. My favorite character is Mike's dad and the guy with the sick mullet is a close second.

I have the StudioCanal Blu Ray release over here in Europe, and I've imported the long out of print Criterion version.

The Criterion version is the only one with a commentary OUT of character, which is excellent and quite informative. Not to mention it has a lot more deleted scene that were never on the StudioCanal versions.

I can assure you, Ozzy wasn't the only person fooled by that movie.

There's numerous stories of McKean, Guest and Shearer at test screenings realizing the audience had no idea it was a spoof. And I've spoken with older musicians who saw the film; a small percentage couldn't tell it was fake at first, and some couldn't even laugh because their experiences hit far too close to home.

All of Chris Guest's films are excellent. A Mighty Wind is his weakest but it's still kinda sweet.

I like my schlock, but I like it with class. The Incredible Shrinking Man, This Island Earth, Flight to Mars, Colossus of New York, The Monolith Monsters, Zombies of Mora Tau - you have to be in the right mood for it, but I love this shit.

If you're a stickler for quality, though, you can never go wrong with The Thin Man. Any of them, but especially the first.

I take it you guys haven't seen Mascots? That's the worst one for me. A Mighty Wind has some nice music in it and Levy's character is great. O'Hara gives a great performance in For Your Consideration but it was a real step down from his earlier films.

Fuck, I did see that when I first got Netflix. I try to forget about it, which isn't difficult.
